| Danube Cycle path, Austria & Germany | Fabulous. Very easy, accommodating to children, 90% on dedicated bike paths. A must for anyone who loves to cycle. Start at Passau, Germany and end in Vienna, Austria (about 400km). This route spins off to a variety of other European cycle paths. | http://www.radtouren.at/en/radwege /genussradtouren/donauradweg.html |
| Loire Valley Cycle path, France | Not as spectacular as the Danube but still pretty good. A few more hills but not strenuous. No all of the route is on dedicated bike paths, you will share the road. | http://www.loirevalleytourism.com/Discover/La-Loire-a-velo-trail/La-Loire-a-velo-trail.html |

| Euro House Hotel, Fiumicino/Rome |
This is an exceptionally customer-service tourism property. If you are looking for a hotel at the Rome airport you must go here. It is only 3km from the airport and they have a shuttle to and from the airport, they can arrange Rome tours, their rooms are HUGE even for American standards, breakfast is great, but........... the staff is the most accommodating we have ever met. | www.eurohousehotels.com |
| De La Ville Ristorante, Rome |
Yum. We travelled all around Italy and Sardinia and never found Bruschetta like this. If you think Bruschetta is only tomatoes, think again. This family run business is right next to the Euro House Hotel. Yum have I already said that! The owners are caring and fun to visit with and if you don't know what food to order, leave it in their hands. A must if you are looking for good food at a fair price (and the wine is yummy too). | http://www.delaville.net |
| San Jouan B & B, Rome |
This small (only 5 room) B & B is situation in an excellent and safe part of Rome. It is a bit hard to find but once there you leave the noise of the city and enjoy the courtyard. With it being a small organization you receive excellent attention. They can provide passes to tourist buses and attractions. | http://www.sanjouan.it |
| Abbazia Hotel, Venice | Perfectly situation a short walk from the train station, you will love this old monastery that has been turned into a glamorous hotel. Yes there is a price tag to this but... it's Venice and you won't be dragging your suitcase all over Venice looking for your accommodation. If Aliviza is still there, tell him D'Arcy Kavanagh begin_of_the_skype_highlighting end_of_the_skype_highlighting from Canada sent you! | http://www.abbaziahotel.com/ |
| Paris Velib Rent a Bike program | Outstanding! This is the best way to get to know Paris. The Velib Stations are usually 3 or 4 blocks from each other and close to all the major tourist attractions. But... make sure you lock the bike up properly when finished or you will be out your 150 Euro deposit. The first 1/2 an hour is free and then it is 1 Euro for every hour after. | http://www.velib.paris.fr/ |
